The issue that I have been following is the issue of censorship in Hong Kong. China has always had very strict censorship laws but recently with the Chinese government taking more control over Hong Kong, the typically lenient Hong Kong censorship laws have been becoming stricter and the Hong Kong public is not reacting well to it. The recent democracy riots in Hong Kong have been partially sparked by this major issue that does not seem to be getting any better anytime soon.
Since October, Hong Kong has seen more requests to have things taken off the web.What is culture, how can it be performed. Can two communities perform different culture but still define as same country. Is our identity mostly determined by culture or origin. As a Hong Kongese, these questions always bother me because there is no absolute statement to define who I am. Hong Kong (HK) is a unique region that mostly influences by two different countries: China and Britain. Interestingly, these countries hold a totally opposite social practice towards one another.
